Cycling fans come from all over the world to climb the Tourmalet, Peyresourde, Portet d’Aspet, Luz Ardiden, Hautacam, Plateau de Beille and all the the other mythical “cols” of the Pyrénées. Since 1910, the Tour de France has been written into the history of these mountains, known for their challenging passes.

The Chateau de Saint-Martory is the most luxurious venue there is between Pau and Foix and one of the best holiday destinations in the south west of France. We are located within riding distance of or a short drive from most major cols, with the closest being the Portet d’Aspet, Col de Menté, Port de Balés, and the Peyresourde.

In recent years we have hosted several cycling groups and continue to ramp up our support structure for cyclists. The Chateau is now equipped with a secure bike storage space and all necessary repair tools.

Furthermore, Chateau de Saint-Martory has teamed up with Chris Gutowsky, former US National Champion and founder of Velosport Consulting to offer specialized services.

Chris has been riding out of Chateau de Saint-Martory countless times and can assist guests with anything from ride selection to full-blown trip organization.

In addition to the famous “cols”, the Petites Pyrénées surrounding us also offer amazing itineraries that are suitable for cyclists of all levels.

What could be better than staying at the foothills of the Pyrenees, in a 500-year old Renaissance castle to realize your dreams of cycling every day?

Full board stays are organized with the help of our local private chef, who does an incredible job customizing menus around cyclists needs and any dietary restrictions.

Come ride and relax with us.
