Composed and cosmopolitan, the festival of Rio Loco is a must in the landscape of summer festivals. Every year it succeeds in creating affinities, creating new intergenerational projects and bringing together the big names on the international scene, in front of more than 100,000 people.

Since 1995, artists such as Omara Portuondo, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, Calle 13, Hugh Masekela, Los Lobos, Emir Kusturica, Paco de Lucia, Rachid Taha, Jimmy Cliff, and Kassav have come to sing, dance and perform, creating a party atmosphere and bringing  together audiences of all ages.

Rio Loco 2018 focuses on the islands of the Indian Ocean, Comoros, Madagascar, Mayotte, Mozambique, Reunion, Seychelles and Tanzania.  The editions Antillas (2013) and Caribe (2014) of the Rio Loco festival have opened the way to overseas territories on the World map: Guadeloupe, Martinique, Guyana.  The first evening is a charity evening, organized in partnership with Hôpital Sourire and the Banque Populaire .From January to June, the Rio Loco offers artistic programming and educational tools to Toulouse’s socio-educational structures. After the editions Antillas and Caribe, Rio Loco Indian Ocean is an invitation to journey into the ultra-marine countries, islands with intense music that develop an art of living, we can dream along the river’s edge of the Garonne, in this magical place of the Meadow of Filters.

The 2018 edition of the Rio Loco festival will take place from June 14 to 17.
